Nuit Blanche Toronto 2012

Nuit Blanche came and went this past weekend. I’ve been to a few so far; some were better than others, and I have to say that this was, for me, one of the better ones. It has to be said, though, that the quality of the Nuit Blanche experience really depends as much on you as it does on the countless installations you’ll come across. Some things are interesting at best, some are fun and engaging, whilst others are deserving of just a glance and a shrug. If you’re someone who doesn’t enjoy walking around and exploring, then you should probably skip this event. I overheard plenty of people complaining about how “everything is so far apart” and blah blah. Everything is free, everything is open and, over all, Nuit Blanche is a good time. Here are some photos from that night.

This was an odd find. In the studio, painting, while the whole city around her is awake. She would often look at her phone and then slouch, with her head in her hands. Art is hard!

The new face of H&M, apparently.

This shot is a bit of a mystery. I remember at this particular spot my camera smacked into a small pole. It made a nasty loud sound, but the cam seems to be OK. What’s strange is that I think my camera snapped this photo when I hit it. I sure as hell don’t remember taking it. I kind of love how it turned out! Looks like an impressionist painting done by someone with the shakes.

Also, we met Batman.
