The Web

I’m not sure why I decided to begin my blog with photos of a spider that I found outside my window. These were the last photos I extracted from my camera, and I suppose it’s as good a theme as any.

I was pulling the curtain away in our dining room when I saw this giant, colourful spider outside the window. I immediately pulled out my phone to try and take a picture. Unfortunately my 3Gs had issues with focusing on the spider, so I had to grab the proper camera. Once I realized that the web wasn’t connected to the window itself, I slid it open to get rid of the glare and take a closer look. As I was snapping away, a giant, hairy black fly flew in, going through a little gap on the side of the web! It kind of startled me, but it ended up just dropping on the floor, so I continued taking pictures of the spider.

After a couple minutes the fly found its way out the window and directly into the web. Needless to say, the spider immediately got to it, wrapped it up, brought it back to the middle, and munched away as seen below.
